Genealogical abstracts from the Tecumseh chieftain

Johnson County, Nebraska, official newspaper, 1873 to 1900

This book was written by my mother as an offshoot of her research into her mother's (Strong) family genealogy in Johnson county Nebraska.
There were about 500 copies printed. Of that, some were soft covered and some were hard bound. The image I provided is of the soft cover edition. The hard cover was green cloth with no image on the front.
Lelia was also a professional photographer and commercial artist. She collected all the family tintypes, letters, wills and marriage records she could and reproduced them with her 4x5 Speed Graphic camera.
The information contained in this book is drawn from tedious, line by line, reading of microfiche records of the Tecumseh Chieftain and hand typed (before the days of computers) on individual pages. I hate to think of all the sheets of paper ripped out of the typewriter, blotted with whiteout before being thrown across the room at the trash can!
