Edition Notes
Cover title. At foot of title: Price 10 cents single. 75 cents a dozen.
Caption title: The nature and tendency of balls, seriously and candidly considered, in two sermons, by Jacob Ide, A.M. Pastor of the Second Church in Medway.
The sermons were delivered on Dec. 21 and 28, 1818.
Preceded by at least two other editions. In 1819 H. & W.H. Mann printed an edition in Dedham, Mass. (Shaw & Shoemaker 44409 and 48319). Another edition, without an imprint, was probably printed in Massachusetts, not before 1819 (Shaw & Shoemaker 4410).
No printing is known in Amherst before 1825. Presumably published by Hezekiah Davis, a student at Amherst College from 1825-1827.
Not in Shoemaker.
"Extract from the writings of the Rev. Joseph Bellamy, D.D. a distinguished luminary in the American churches."--p. 36.
Burke Library copy (Union Rare WW G25 v.41): No. 16 in a bound volume of titles.
