Brochure to accompany an exhibition in two consecutive parts held Oct. 21, 2000-Jan. 21, 2001 and Feb. 24, 2001-May 20, 2001 at the Getty Research Institute, Los Angeles, CA. The exhibition explores Mexican history and culture through photographs taken between 1857 and 1914 from the collections of the Getty Research Institute with an additional loan from the J. Paul Getty Museum.
