Edition Notes

Goff E-126
BM 15th cent., IV, p. 34 (IB.17419)
GW 9436 (variant)
Translated by Rufinus Tyrannius.
Two issues exist of this ed., the first with a dedication to Pope Sixtus IV, the second with one to Cardinal D'Estouteville. This substitution necessitated a reprinting of the first signature which shows slight textual differences. The register corresponds to the first issue.
LC copy is of the second issue. However, the first 2 leaves (a blank and the dedication to the Cardinal) are wanting, replaced by a ms. dedication, in a contemporary hand, to the pope (3 leaves). Large initial and dependent border illuminated in gold and color on leaf [3a], other initials supplied in red or blue throughout (including the ms. part).
