Work Description

Teachers will find compelling information that will help us create better tests for students. Gardener teaches us that each student has a special way of showing that they understand something and so let's stop telling every student to write an essay or do it 100 question multiple choice test there are better ways for students to perform their understanding

Excerpts

"A performance approach to understanding is justified. Focusing on performances immediately marks an important shift: Instead of "mastering content," one thinks about the reasons why a particular content is being taught and how best to display one's comprehension of that content in a publicly accessible way. When students realize they will have to apply knowledge and demonstrate insights in a public form, they assume a more active stance vis-a-vis material, seeking to exercise their "performance muscles" whenever possible."
