Preface signed: T. Welde [i.e. Thomas Weld, to whom the work was formerly ascribed].

The work was first printed, without preface under title: Antinomians and Familists condemned by the synod of elders in Nevy England: with the proceedings of the magistrates against them, and their apology for the same. Together with a memorable example of God's judgements upon some of those persons proceeded against. London, Printed for R. Smith, 1644.

In the same year Smith published a second and third edition, with new title "A short story ..." and a preface by Weld.
