Edition Notes

In this copy the Lat. quotation on the t.-p. is followed by: Hor. lib. iv. Ode 9. As in Evans 4817.

Paged incorrectly, 78 followed by 87 to 118.

One of three editions printed in Charleston, 1741. cf. Evans' Amer. bibl. and the Carter Brown catalogue. The dedicatory epistle to General James Oglethorpe is reprinted in McCall's Hist. of Georgia, 1811-16, v. 1, p. 152-157, together with an account of the pamphlet itself, p. 157-158. cf. also M. C. Tyler, Hist. of Amer. lit. during the colonial time, 1897, v. 2, p. 292-297.

A criticism of the constitution of the colony and Oglethrope's administration, by a group of malcontents who had withdrawn to a neighboring colony.
