In 1854 the Crimean War captures the imagination of young men eager to do battle with the new enemy, Russia, but the military hospitals fill with the sick and wounded. Work Description

In 1855, Rosa Barr, a young Englishwoman, travels to the Crimea determined to work as a nurse. She never returns.
