Edition Notes
"Thirty-four copies of a book of Skulls were issued by the Gehenna Press of Leeds, Massachusetts, during the deep frigid snows of early winter 2003. John E. Benson, of Newport, Rhode Island, has lettered the great Skulls of the title page. The Centaur & Arrighi types for the text were cast by Dan Carr at Golgonooza Letter Foundry in Ashuelot, New Hampshire. Arthur Larson achieved the composition & letterpress printing. The copperplates were printed by Michael Kuch & Sarah Horowitz at The Double Elephant Press in Northampton, Massachusetts; all the color is printed. The woodcuts were printed from the blocks by Arthur Larson in Hadley, Massachusetts. A variety of Japanese and European handmade papers was used throughout"--Colophon.
"The edition is arranged as follows: copies numbered 1-10 contain a leaf of manuscript by Jonathan Maslow, a second suite of the prints on various papers, a copperplate or a woodblock, and an original drawing by Leonard Baskin; copies 11-34 comprise the regular edition.
