Abridged version of the first edition, printed London, 1699, with additional voyages included in the London, 1702 edition of Wafer's work.

"A new voyage and description of the Isthmus of America": p. [261]-398.

"An additional account of several beasts, birds, fishes, reptiles, &c. and particularly many trees, shrubs, and herbs, with their names, use, vertues, &c. as has been observ'd in those parts. Communicated by a member of the Royal Society", p. 399-460, is written anonymously, and has separate caption title.

"An expedition of a body of English-men to the gold mines of Spanish America, in 1702. With the many strange adventures that befel them in that bold undertaking. By Nathaniel Davis", p. 461-463 [i.e. 475], has separate caption title.

"Of the Indian Inhabitants; their manners, customs, &c.", p. 344-347, contains a discussion of the Cuna Indians of Panama and their language as it compares to Irish and Scots Gaelic. Includes cardinal numbers in the Cuna language on p. 373-374 compared with cardinal numbers in the Gaelic language on p. 375-376, and a brief selection of vocabulary and phrases in the Cuna language on p. 377.
