Since long before the time of Columbus, until now, thousands, whether fishermen, professional mariners, or amateur sailors, have faced the fury and remoteness of the North Atlantic Ocean. Such a feat is no longer the stuff of headline news. But the oceans very existence remains a personal challenge of major proportions. Three Lake Ontario recreational sailors could not resist the pull of that mighty body of water and so they went in search of the Pillars of Herdules on the other side of the ocean.
