"Wanted - a chaperon" is a short story that takes place in Manhattan around the turn of the century. A girl from Connecticut on her first visit to a relative in the city gives her carriage the wrong address during a snow storm and ends up stranded with the residents of that wrong address. It's a nice little story. I'm always interested in reading things about New York from New York authors at that time period.
