There she is miserable, and after two years returns to the island. But her ship is wrecked and she is drowned before the eyes of Paul.

Eng. of Marguerite has "Marguerite." printed as part of the plate, as is the case for the plates for "Mme. de la Tour," "Virginie," and "Paul," etc., each has legend printed as part of its plate (instead the legend being printed on the tissue guard facing it). There is no vignette "Une bonne femme" (the first Mme. Curmer) on India paper forming the tail-piece of p. 418.
