Stephanie Cooke has covered the nuclear industry for almost thirty years, beginning her reporting career in 1977 at the Associated Press. In 1980 she moved to McGraw-Hill in New York as an associate editor for the industry newsletters Nucleonics Week, NuclearFuel and Inside N.R.C., later becoming chief editor. In 1984 she transferred to London and two years later covered the aftermath of the Chernobyl accident for Business Week and NucleonicsWeek. She is currently an editor of Uranium Intelligence Weekly, and a contributor to The Bulletin of Atomic Scientists.
Kirkus Reviews calls her book In Mortal Hands "Skillful, unsettling arguments that the world is headed toward nuclear disaster."
