A collection of teachings given by Rebbe Nachman of Breslov (1772-1810). They were compiled and published by his foremost disciple Reb Noson Sternhartz (1770-1844).
Rebbe Nachman was the grandson of Rabbi Israel be Eliezer commonly known as the Holy Baal Shem Tov who founded the Hasidic movement in Judaism.
Rebbe Nachman founded the Breslov Hasidic group and gave the teachings contained in this work to his followers. The lessons explains the teachings from the Torah, Talmud and other standard Jewish sources from the Kabbalah.
The likutey Moharan consists of two parts. The first part (lessons 1-286) was first published on Ostrog in 1888 and the second part was published Moghilev in 1811. A combined edition was published in 1821.
The complete work was translated and published with a commentary as a 15 volume set by the Breslov Research Institute
