The book is based on a Ph.D. thesis in archaeology at Munich University in cooperation with Israel Antiquities Authority. It deals with the results of the Archaeological survey of Israel in the Carmel range and presents both the settlements and the graves of Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine age. Most important is the typology of graves the author develops.
