H&L describes the author as a'native of Wales, educated at Oxford'; the DNB records him as an Italian scholar and clerk of the council to Edward VI; the present work is said to have been 'suppressed and publicly burnt', but it was twice reprinted , in 1561 and 1562.
Printed in Gothic black letter; decorated capitals; running titles.
