"When the undertaking was first commenced, nothing more was contemplated than a revision of the old Conductor generalis, in those parts merely that had been predicated upon British statutes differing from ours : but this formed so considerable a part of the book, that after a few of the first subjects, it was laid aside as almost an useless auxiliary.": Preface.
