A Swedenborgian afterlife novel from the early years of the American spiritualist movement. It describes the post-life fate of its happily married protagonists, Hero and Leon, as they travel through the spirit spheres under the guidance of their spirit guide Pythagoras. The book's author Hudson Tuttle was a major figure in the American spiritualist movement who published numerous other works of spiritualist philosophy, including Arcana of Nature (1860) and The Origin and Antiquity of Man Spiritually Considered (1866).
