A reissue, with cancel title, of the sheets of the 1572 edition published in Lyons by Guillaume Roville. The original cancelland title, with identical wording apart from Roville's imprint, is present in this copy. On the verso, is the privilege granted to Roville in 1566. This mentions the Livre de distillations, here added as book 7 of the Secrets of Alexis. It is not found in Italian editions of the Secreti. According to Roville's letter to the reader dated 10 May 1572 on p. 14-15, the book with its illustrations, was found amongst the author's papers after his death, and forwarded to the publisher from Piedmont
