Edition Notes

Cover title: Children of the mobility (1841)

Autotype of the second of the three drawings which Leech made for each of his pictures. The descriptive text is by Percival Leigh. The original work consisted of eight plates and was intended to satirize the illustrated annuals of the day. Ruskin in his introductory letter advocates the purchase of the whole of Leech's sketches by the government, as containing "the finest definition and natural history of the classes of our society."
