The map was drawn by Lewis Evans and engraved by James Turner. Cf. Stevens, H.N. Lewis Evans, his map of the middle British colonies in America, 2nd ed., London, 1920. The map is dedicated to Thomas Pownall, and bears the imprint: Published ... by Lewis Evans June 23. 1755 and sold by R. Dodsley, London & by the author in Philadelphia.
"The map was reissued, with improvements, in Thomas Pownall's 'Topographical description,' printed in London, in 1776."--Evans.
