Verse in thirty-six stanzas, concerning the taxes imposed by Great Britain on the American colonies and the subsequent revolution; first line: While I relate my story, Americans give ear.

Variously attributed to Peter St. John of Norwalk, Conn., and Samuel St. John of New Canaan, Conn.

Evans supplies the imprint [Hartford : Printed by Hudson & Goodwin, 1783]; however, this is evidently a much later printing.

Text in two columns; printed area measures 36.7 x 19.6 cm.
