"Tributes to Arnold" was published shortly after the death of Clytus Arnold Thomasos who, up to the time of his death in December 1990, had the distinction of being the longest-serving Speaker of a National Parliament in the entire Commonweath of Nations, having held the position for 20 years. Arnold Thomasos served as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives in Trinidad and Tobago from 1956 to 1961 when he was appointed Speaker, a position he held until ill-health forced him to retire in 1981.
The book also contains the eulogy delivered at his funeral by Neil Giuseppi.
