Horace Newcomb teaches American Studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County Campus, and has also taught at Cornell College, Iowa, and at Saginaw Valley College, Michigan. He is a former television critic for the Baltimore Sun, and the author of TV: The Most Popular Art (1974).
