George "Doc" Abraham was a horticulturalist and gardening expert who, along with his wife, Katy, hosted one a gardening call-in radio show called "The Green Thumb." The show ran from 1952-2002, and was one of the longest-running shows in the history of American radio. Before their radio show, the couple owned a greenhouse business and wrote a gardening column that was syndicated to 130 newspapers.
