James M. Somerville

James M. Somerville, S.J., was among the early expositors of Blondel’s thought in the United States. He also served Fordham University as Director of the Honors Program, Head of the Teilhard Research Research Institute, and as chairman of the Department of Philosophy for nearly a decade. He was founder and Executive Editor of International Philosophical Quarterly. He was a recipient of the 1961 Catholic Press Association Award for scholarly publication and contributed more than thirty articles, prefaces and translations of a variety of standard reference works.
