Steven Kellogg

Steven Kellogg is an author and illustrator who has contributed 90 books for children. He is best known for writing books about animals, which he credits his grandmother for.

He was born in Norwalk, Connecticut to Robert E. and Hilma Marie (Johnson) Kellogg, and his love of writing and illustrating earned him a place at the Rhode Island School of Design. From there he won a fellowship to work and study in Florence, Italy for his senior year. Upon returning to the U.S., he attended grad school and taught at American University, and began working on picture books.

Steven Kellogg is also the vice-president of the National Children's Book and Literacy Alliance, a national not-for-profit organization that advocates for literacy, literature, and libraries.
