  • 1966–1970: vice-chairman of the German Society for (Operational/)Operations Research (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Unternehmensforschung/DGU; later: Deutsche Gesellschaft für Operations Research/DGOR)
  • 1972–1995: o. Prof. for statistics, University of Vienna
  • 1975–1995: o. Prof. for statistics, University of Munich (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München)
  • 1997: honorary member of the Austrian Statistical Society (Österreichische Statistische Gesellschaft/ÖSG)
