This book is a collection of synoptic tributary poems portraying the author's perspective of both known and "not so known" Black writers. The familiar writers include Paul Laurence Dunbar, Nikki Giovanni ( who reveiwed the book) Dr. Maya Angelou, and others. Some of the "not so known" writers included are Countee Cullens, Phyllis Wheatley, Haki Mahabuti, Amiri Amamu Baraka and others. This book was used as a mandatory supplemental text for English 211 at Virginia State University. Also included in the book are poems reflecting the author's views of the world from a fresh, inspirational point of view.
