Discovery has been specifically designed to appeal to adult, post-intermediate level students of English as a foreign language. Its eighteen units contain a variety of topics of current interest, ranging from hijacking to marriage and divorce, advertising to the arms race.
Each unit comprises five parts: reading comprenhension, listening comprehension, guided writing, role-playing, discussion, and extensive language practice.
Detailed introductions for both the teacher and the students explain how to make the best use of Discovery.
A cassette containing dialogues for listening comprehension accompanies this book. Both American and British speakers have been used.
