Soul Window is a journey transcribed by 14 year-year-old Christopher Rorke. Christopher and his mother will attempt to travel through the soul window to the Gilpin Homestead where Lafayette stayed before he fought the Battle of Brandywine, September 11th 1777. Mrs. Rorke and Chris had the great fortune, their two cousins Anne and Robert decided to join them on this adventure. And why did they attempt this journey? Because Mr. Rorke, Chris,s father, had fallen into a "Soul Window" while doing some carpentry work in a very old building in South Carolina. Many events occurred within those few months of the summer of 1990. What is very evident was the devotion of the family and the true patriotism shown by countless characters in "Soul Window". Also we watch a mere lad of 14 years embark on the threshold of manhood. In that brief summer Christopher learned what was sacrificed long ago for the freedom that we enjoy today.
