First Sentence

"AT THE close of the Indian war of 1876-77 the Western or Teton Sioux had been deprived of the Black Hills and of the vast hunting grounds in the Powder River, Tongue River, and Bighorn country; but they still held by treaty right a great reservation in Dakota, extending from the Missouri River west to the 103rd meridian, just east of the Black Hills, and from the Nebraska line north to the Cannonball River, a little south of the town of Bismarck in North Dakota."
