Report submitting only evidence taken from May 18 to August 3, 1835, and recommending the "expediency of appointing, at the commencement of the next session, a Committee for the purpose of pursuing and completing the inquiry." The 34 appendixes (p. 289-572) consist mainly of "returns" (attendance salaries, etc.) and "Copies of communications made to, and received from, His Majesty's ministers abroad, respecting literary institutions or libraries in foreign countries."
