James Sartain makes use of his personal knowledge of Walker County and the Armuchee Valley creating a record of the people who settled the area, where they came from, who they married, who their children were. Attention is given to the history of the county, as well as cameo sketches of many of the citizens. Sartain gives a heart breaking account of the Cherokee removal, people pleading to be killed rather than to be forced from their homes. For anyone researching the people of Northwestern GA this book is a gem.
