This is a very readable description of the developement of men from ancient times to reasonable civilisation.
First people(s) to inhabit Europe and the way they lived and how they invented things to make life more easy. The struggles, the survival of the fittest, those who had discovered the use of iron for example, had the upper hand for a long time. Fascinating and well written, though a bit archaic for our more modern minds.
