The text is chiefly an extract from an article which appeared in Fraser's magazine (July 1834) after the painting was exhibited at Somerset House. The article was signed Morgan Rattler, a pseud. of Percival Weldon Bnks. Cf. Rebellious Fraser's / M.M.H. Thrall. 1934. The engraving was made in 1837. Cf. A catalog of the works of Samuel Cousins / A. Graves. [1887?]
