Oelgart was unable to document the existence of a Frank Ellison and speculates that the name may be the pseudonym of Charlotte Ellison, of the Ellison family recorded as living at the address in the original imprint.
"200 copies ... signed by the printer and the publisher [Stanley Marcus and Stephen Stinehour] have been printed"--Colophon.
The original was published in Waltham, Mass., by the author in 1858.
