Upper wrapper printed in black with titling and pattern of nested ornamental borders with imprint: "Bradbury and Evans Bouverie St. Fleet Street.". Both sides of lower wrapper printed in black with general advertisement. Inside of upper wrapper printed with publisher's advertisement listing "Guides and Handbooks, illustrative of the Crystal Palace", the list including "7. Handbook to the Byzantine Court.". With 10 x 12 cm. advertisement for Bradbury & Evans inserted at beginning: "Crystal Palace Illustrated Journal.". With 5 x 12 cm. "Notice." inserted at beginning: "The Directors trust to the People to respect and protect the beautiful objects of Art and Nature which have been collected for their pleasure and improvement.".
