Dated to 1769 from internal evidence in the preface, which was apparently extensively revised before issue (probably exists only in this form).
Part II (announced) was never published, and the whole work was entirly superseded in 1771 by the completion of the same author's 'An historical collection of the several voyages and discoveries in the South Pacific Ocean'.- With a half-title.
