These photographs were taken in connection with the representation of Phormio given under the direction of the Classical department of Harvard college at Sanders theatre April 19-21, 1894. The miniatures for which this MS. of the tenth century is remarkable, were copied to some extent in the costumes, attitudes and gestures of the actors, and were reproduced in the special edition of the Phormio published at this time for a libretto.
