Printed letter signed in print by George William Manby; at head of title: Prospect Place, Southtown, Yarmouth, 28th November, 1844; Robert Peel is listed in print as the recipient at the bottom.
The printed area measures 30 x 18 cm.
Defending his good name against those who would "disparage my labors, throw discredit on my name, and exclude me from society." It also petitions for naming Yarmouth a "Harbour of Refuge" and a "Mail-packet Station".
Mounted on a folded sheet; also mounted are an engraved portrait of Mandy [sic] and an A.ℓ.s. dated Windsor 1848 to "Dear Loddy" from Josiah French (44WM-55) relating French's meeting Manby.
