The ten plates relating to Chertsey Abbey were published separately, as well as being part of the larger work issued by Pickering in 1858 under the title: Specimens of tile pavements.
MASS copy: Contains 41 of the 47 plates comprising the larger work, without the text, and with the wrapper title to the Chertsey Abbey part issue. Two of the plates are printed in fewer colours than those in the 1858 ed. With note in ms laid in: This collection was made by John Coad ... a noted architect under goverment".
MASS copy: Bound in portfolio of half leather and blue dot and line-grain cloth, with title blocked in gold on spine: Encaustic tile pavements.
