Printed in 1989, The Baseball Card Variation Book Vol.II covers variations from 1948 through 1989. Yearly updates were made available through 1997 to include more baseball card finds plus basketball, football, hockey and some non-sport variations.
Arranged by producer and year, the book is a checklist of variations with brief descriptions of the differences between the known versions.
At the time of its printing, it was by far the most comprehensive listing of variations ever produced. The original comb-bound manual is 60 pages. The yearly additions increased the page total to over 220 pages.
The book plus Xeroxed copies of the yearly updates are only available directly from the author.

Excerpts

"Hard-core variation chasers generally feel they have to have a copy of every slightly different issue of every card. I have tried to include information that will help them. Most collectors I know are satisfied being knowledgeable about which versions they have in their collections, and perhaps adding a few when they come across ones that they are aware of. Many don't need to have any at all, but do enjoy seeing the differences. This book is for all of you, as well as those who are just discovering the hobby."
