Covers are decorated with a center panel of thistle framed by small panels depicting the Virtues (Justicia--Lucrecia--Spes--Fides), within a frame of roses and leaves, framed by rectangular panels of scenes and verses from the New Testament, within an ornamental frame; all decoration appears to be roll-stamped.
