A description of Lubwa Misison's role in the national history of Zambia, Lubwa being the birthplace of Zambia's first President Kenneth Kaunda, the son of pioneer missionary, teacher and minister David Kaunda of Lubwa Mission. The oldest son of David Kaunda played an important role in the Lumpa Church, which emerged in the 1950s and soon became one of the largest churches in the country.
