‘Thomas Fielding’ is one of the many pseudonyms of the Shakespeare forger William Henry Ireland (1775-1835). The printer, D. S. Maurice, is also named as printer of the first edition of John Payne Collier’s Punch and Judy (January 1828), the second edition of which (March 1828) is printed by Anne Maurice, presumably his widow.
