Poems and photographs reveal what teddy bears do when humans aren't around.

Work Description

This is a precious and one-of-a-kind book that I discovered a couple of weeks ago for only $2.99. Originally it was $15.99, so it was quite a deal - or should I say steal. It's a treasure of full-page photos of Teddy Bears all dressed up in their finery. On facing pages are cute poems about the activities of these adorable Teddy Bears. Sprinkled throughout are double-page photos of larger groups of Teddy Bears. There is Marcel, a baby bear in an old-fashioned wicker buggy. Then there is Bruno, the baker rolling out his dough in a bear-sized kitchen. Mr. Winfield Bearington collects and sells honey while Ella, complete with wide-brimmed hat with a feather and a pearl necklace, drinks tea and dreams of Parisian cafes. And poor Franklin has eaten more cake, cookies, pies etc. than would be good for a whole passel of Teddy Bears and in consequence is sick in bed with his little "puppy". And there are others, just as appealing. I would suppose this was written for children, but in my opinion it is ageless. Anyone who has a soft spot for Teddy Bears and poetry will thoroughly enjoy this book. I only hope it is still available through book stores and/or the publisher.
