"The abridgment of Seeking Solitude made from The Comfort of the Mystics, was compiled in the middle of the 8th/14th century. It was written for a group of Sufis, fellow dervishes and Sufi novices, to serve as a guidebook .... Its compiler was a certain Yūsuf b. Fattūḥ b. Dāʼūd, who stated at the end of the text that it was he, who selected and copied the content of the abridgment, completing his work in the month of Rabīʻ II, 740 A. H. (i.e., October 1339 A.D.)."--Pages 7-8 from the English introduction.
