Edition Notes
Edited by Ludwig Hohenwang.
Imprint derived from typographical analysis: set in Proctor's types 28 (48G text) and 23 (roman capitals), which are also found in a Grüninger ed. of Plautus pub. 8 April 1508.
Printed in a tall and narrow "agenda" format for ease of portability, and possibly the first secular text printed in this format.
Signatures: A-X⁸ y-z⁶.
Woodcut title vignette; half-page woodcut ill. at the beginning of each work.
White-on-black woodcut criblé initials. Each initial incorporates added letters, so as to constitute a single Latin word or phrase, and were probably made specifically for this edition.
In this ed., each book of the Aeneid has been divided into chapters.
Includes commentary by Josse Badius.
